However, "studies are reporting risk of heart disease, stroke, problem pregnancies and pancreatic cancer are significantly increased — over 60 percent — when a person has gum disease," said Stay, 59, of Somis. "I also maintain that even weight loss and our sex life is affected by poor oral health."
